Pupils are encouraged to enjoy and play sport through the delivery of a high quality, broad and balanced curriculum. Pupils are given opportunities regardless of their ability and experiences, and the benefits of playing a sport are promoted in lessons and co-curricular activities. There is also a comprehensive fixture programme across a broad range of sports. The approach is definitely sport for all!

The highly qualified sports staff are all deployed to their specialist sports, and they foster and develop links with local clubs and Loughborough University. Opportunities are also taken to employ external coaches, wherever possible to provide depth to the training programme for our elite athletes.

The sports team arrange fixtures and after school training sessions for each team. Hockey teams are entered into the ISNC Hockey Cup, the In2hockey tournament and Tier 2 competitions at U16 and U18 level. Netball tournaments include ISNC, SNS, Team Leicestershire and county rounds through to Nationals. The Football teams compete at U13 and U15 age group for the SNS Cup, whilst the Senior team and U15, enter for the ISFA Cup and the League. All age groups are entered into Team Leicestershire. In 2019, U16 Netball U14 Hockey were national finalists.

The High School has sporting links with the following clubs;

Netball – Charnwood, Loughborough Lightning, Loughborough University

Hockey – Carillon Hockey Club

Co-curricular clubs include netball, hockey, football, basketball, swimming, badminton, handball, rugby, swimming, cricket, rounders, tennis, athletics, gymnastics, dance and table-tennis.

These clubs are offered to all age groups, experience and abilities.
