Mrs Davey came into teaching Physical Education after excelling in the world of dance. She has danced in a number of genres and competed in artistic gymnastics throughout her youth, where she was the Youth County Gymnastics and British Latin Youth Champion as well as competing at the BCA cheerleading competitions representing the LCFC cheerleaders. She attended the BMC Dance College where she gained a distinction. Mrs Davey was principal of her own dance school (The McHugh School of Dance) for eight years where she taught a variety of dance styles including Jazz, modern, contemporary, tap, street, salsa, cheerleading and physical theatre. She choreographed annual dance shows and enabled students to take part in workshops and performances at prestigious London theatres. Many of her ex-students have gone on to a gain a career within the performing world through pathways that she opened up for them.
