Co-Curricular clubs, workshops and productions offer the students the opportunity to express themselves in a variety of ways, whether it is making new friends or writing their own script, or gaining confidence and taking risks.

Lunch-time Clubs

There are several lunch-time drama clubs for pupils at KS 3. They are a part of the House drama competition, which is held at the end of the school year and all girls can audition and take part in. The lunch time club is a place to get to know other people and play drama games.

Bright Lights is an after school drama workshop for a small number of dedicated pupils who wish to take drama more seriously. It is ran in conjunction with the Grammar school and allows for attendees to gain skills in a variety of drama techniques.

New Directors’ Season

NDS is an annual project where students have the opportunity to direct other students in their own productions. They have to audition and run their own rehearsals which culminates in two evening of performances to parents and friends. This is conjunction with the Grammar school.

Lower Schools’ Production

Years 7 and 8 have the opportunity to audition for the lower school production, which is held in the summer term. Past performances have included The Twits, Swallows and Amazons and Bugsy Malone. This is in conjunction with the Grammar and Amherst schools.

Middle Schools’ Production

Years 9 and 10 have the opportunity to audition for the middle school production, which is held in the summer term. Productions have included The Monster Horror Show. This is in conjunction with the Grammar and Amherst schools.

Senior Schools’ Production

Years 11, 12 and 13 have the opportunity to audition for the senior schools production, which is held in the spring term. Past productions have included; Return to the Forbidden Planet, Blood Brothers, Grease, Oh What A Lovely War, The Importance of Being Earnest.

Edinburgh Festival Fringe

The annual trip to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August, is an excellent opportunity for all sixth formers who wish to gain the experience of performing at the largest arts festival in the world. Past Productions include Chatroom, DNA, and Dahling You Were Marvellous.
