CCF Leadership Weekend

The bright spring weather last weekend reflected the enthusiastic approach of 17 cadets from across the Foundation who took part in the CCF Leadership Weekend.

Run by Fran, Sharon, and Sarah from training providers CVQO, the course comprised a mix of leadership theory and practical tasks. All the cadets had to analyse their leadership styles, learn how to give and receive feedback, and complete a range of practical and academic challenges. Building up through increasingly complex team exercises, the weekend culminated in assessments of each cadet’s individual ability to plan, brief, lead, and review a challenging task.

On completion of the weekend and assessment of their workbooks, successful cadets will qualify for their Institute of Leadership & Management Level 2 Young Leaders’ Award. Not only is this a great addition to their CV, it will also give them the confidence and experience to be able to take on leadership roles in the CCF and beyond.

The course was a great blend of learning and fun, and the cadets were sparky, enthusiastic, and a credit to the schools – what more could we ask for!
