The Wind, Brass, Percussion and Bands Faculty consists of 14 specialist Individual Music Teachers (IMTs) and offers tuition on Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophones, Bassoon, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Percussion and Drum Kit.
Ensemble membership is encouraged for all musicians whatever their ability, ranging from Junior Groups to the Symphonic Wind Band and from instrumental ensembles to jazz, rock and pop. Our ensembles have achieved national success with performances at the Music For Youth National Festival in Birmingham and The LSM Flute Ensemble were runners up in the Just Flutes Ensemble Competition 2018. Recently, the Symphonic Wind Band has been working closely with the RAF Music Service and performed a joint concert with the Band of the RAF College here at School in January 2019. The senior ensembles have a chance to partake in our bi-annual music tour – recent destinations have been Ireland, Prague, Barcelona and Geneva.
