Mighty Monuments

Over the past few months Year 6 have been planning, building and testing their models for a 3M STEM challenge. They had three to choose from; the lightest boat that can carry 5kg, a slow marble run or a mighty monument, that again had to be as light as possible and hold 5kg at a specific point. This gave the boys the opportunity to be creative whilst applying the science from their forces topic and culminated in three exciting visits to 3M for testing and to present their ideas. We may not have made it into the finals but the boys enjoyed themselves and learned a lot about working as part of a team.
