Loughborough Grammar School recognised for developing self-assured and ‘world-ready’ boys in its latest ISI report

Following the inspection that took place in November 2024, the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) has published a glowing report for Loughborough Grammar School.
The benefits of the School’s rich and varied academic curriculum and co-curricular activities feature throughout the report, which clearly reflect its high-quality education. Below are a sample of the positive comments by the inspectors.
“Pupils show high levels of respect for each other.”
“Pupils develop self-assurance and by the time they leave school they are ‘world-ready’”.
“Pupils are articulate and reasoned in conversation and listen attentively to different opinions.”
“Pupils are confident but sensitive in exploring issues around cultural diversity and inclusion.”
“Pupils’ skills are well developed especially in practical science, the speaking of modern foreign languages, art and music.”
ISI inspections are undertaken to report on compliance with independent school regulations. Loughborough Grammar School successfully met all the required standards and received some wonderful comments and feedback from the inspectors.
Rather than giving an overall grading, the new framework for inspection, which was released in 2023, focuses on reporting in the following five areas:
- Leadership, management and governance
- Pupils’ education, training and recreation
- Pupils’ physical and mental health and wellbeing
- Pupils’ social and economic wellbeing and contribution to society
- Safeguarding
Morag Herring, Interim Head at Loughborough Grammar School, said: “I am delighted to share that Loughborough Grammar School unequivocally met all five standards specified in the inspection framework.
“Our pupils impressed us all during the inspection with their maturity and confidence when speaking with the inspectors and the remarkable character of our boys is a theme running through the report.”
