Our Sixth Form is designed to make exceptional academic achievement possible and is why our A level exam results are so consistently impressive. 98% of boys go on to take up a place at their chosen university and a majority progress to top-flight universities.
We also support the chosen path of all students, helping them succeed whatever their next step might be, from gap years to vocational learning or apprenticeships.
We offer 28 A level subjects, with teaching in small groups by dedicated and highly qualified staff; creating a genuine learning partnership between teachers and students. In some subjects our Sixth Form learning is co-educational, as our boys come together with girls from Loughborough High and Loughborough Amherst Schools.
This develops a mature approach to study which serves our boys well as they progress to further education.
Thinking ahead
We appreciate that the right A level results can ensure boys gain entry to their chosen next step, and then onwards and upwards to a successful and rewarding career; so placing each student on the right career path is key.
Every student has a unique path to follow and we provide individual advice tailored to their aspirations. Each department has specialist teachers who can advise on applicable careers and university courses that are all part of our excellent careers programme. In addition, the Independent Project is a vital part of Sixth Form life. Each boy produces a substantial project of his own chosen subject to demonstrate the depth of his interest to prospective universities.
We also offer access to a wealth of information about all available courses, arrange visits to universities, universities visit us and a team of highly experienced staff guide parents and students through every stage of the application process.
