Under team leader, Jaysol, the Youth Parliament debating team competed in the European Youth Parliament UK Regionals this weekend. The team organised themselves, were allocated differing committees and attended two days of training and sessions remotely. Jaysol not only lead the team but organised a meeting on Saturday night to review the day and plan Sunday.

Of the team, Jaysol won his motion by the highest margin, winning 52-4. Jaysol, Alex and Ian all have been nominated to advance to the National heats in August, which is a huge success.

Sadly, the Nationals are still planned to take place remotely this year, but if the boys are successful they will advance to the European rounds. The whole team will also have a chance to compete in next year’s regionals hopefully in person!
