Over the past two weekends, Michael in Year 13 has been competing at the Derbyshire County Swimming Championships. He entered six events and achieved six Regional qualifying times: 50m and 100m freestyle, 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke and 50m butterfly. He was in the finals for each event and achieved gold for the 200m backstroke, with a time of 2.15.69, a short course personal best. He was also awarded bronze for both the 50m backstroke (28.57) and 100m backstroke (1.00.93) and another short course personal best in the 50m freestyle (24.97) and the 50m butterfly (27.62).
