Bulb Planting
Last week saw the first day in two weeks of bulb planting, an initiative introduced to both get the boys more involved with their environment; make the campus more biodiverse; spread colour in the spring months and improve well-being.
Parents and boys from all years attended at the weekend and worked on the front the School. Special mention goes to Mr and Mrs Janes and Hugo especially with their bulb planter, Mrs Wright with Nicholas and Ben, Johan Gao, Andy and Mrs Cheung, Grandmother and grandson team of Ted, Mrs Donaldson and for Taha who with boarders from Denton and School House, planted tulips and daffodils with great focus and effort.
On Monday, mentors in Years 11-13 worked with their mentees planting across the LGS campus, focusing on planting Narcissus tete a tete, Crocus remembrance and Tulip linifolia around the cherry trees in the quad. Through the week members in Gardening club, Beast Club and Animal Husbandry, as well as Year 6, planted a cut flower garden of Tulips.
There is still a fair bit to go and a lot more areas and bulbs to plant!
