We are extremely proud of our Year 11 achievements at GCSE as 57% receive the top grades of 9-7.
These outstanding results highlight the hard work and determination of our Year 11 pupils who are now preparing to take their next educational steps into Sixth Form.
We are pleased to announce that over a fifth of grades received are the top grade 9, a remarkable 22%.
Helen Foster, Head of Loughborough Grammar School, said: “We are extremely proud of our Year 11 achievements at GCSE. Our pupils have embraced the challenges over the GCSE years and shone in many areas. They have worked hard and enjoyed the input of our talented teachers to obtain these superb results. For many of them their results allow them to continue to study in our first class, newly refurbished Sixth Form where they will be prepared to be world ready (with ‘not just 3 A levels.’) Congratulations to these students, they deserve these wonderful results.”
Individual achievements at GCSE also shined through with 7 boys achieving an outstanding clean sweep of grade 9s. A further 14 boys achieved all grade 8s or 9s – an incredible success. Layan, one of our high achievers scored straight 9’s across the board.
Layan’s parents said: “We’re really pleased. He’s done brilliantly. Layan is very curious, he loves learning. He’s already chosen his A Levels, Maths, Further Maths, Computing and Greek. He’s looking forward to studying maths right through to university. Layan naturally has a logical mind and a thirst for knowledge, so whatever he puts his mind to, he excels at. We’re very proud parents”.
Our boys can now look forward to beginning their A Levels as many move on to study a selection of the 27 subjects we have available, from Economics to STEM and more. Our Sixth Form Centre offers students continual support as they progress further towards their individual career goals and aspirations.
