A message from Loughborough Grammar School Headmaster, Duncan Byrne following the vandalism of memorial trees in the Quad on Friday 25th August.

“I wish to thank the local community in Loughborough, and members of the public and organisations from further afield, for the many messages the school has received from those who are appalled by the act of vandalism in our Quad on Friday 25th August. As I prepare to welcome our boys back for the start of a new academic year, I am also grateful for the generous offers to replace the trees in advance of this year’s Remembrance Service, a poignant and reflective event in our school calendar for both students and staff. We understand that Leicestershire Police’s investigation is progressing and we are awaiting an update from them. We would again encourage anyone who has information that can assist Police with their enquiries to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 17000365538.”
