U11 Girls’ B and C vs Warwick Prep

On a gloriously sunny and warm afternoon, the girls journeyed to Soar Valley in Mountsorrel to play against Warwick Prep. A thorough warm up ensured the girls were well prepared and they went into their respective matches with great eagerness. The B team faced a strong Warwick side who played with skill and used space to great effect resulting in a 4-0 win to them. The score line did not reflect the hard work from Fairfield who put some super passing moves together in order to get into the Warwick D. A mention must go to Elena who made some tremendous saves in goal. The C team were equally excited about their match and started out fully committed to attacking the Warwick goal. Again, some excellent link up play between midfield and attack ensured the ball stayed in and around the Warwick D. Just before half time the girls hard efforts were rewarded with a well taken shot. Warwick pressed hard too and in the final quarter they secured the equaliser. A mention again to Mia in goal who made some tremendous saves to make sure no further chances were converted. Well played to all the girls and many thanks to the parents who supported and to Mrs Love who gave her time to umpire.
