Fairfield vs Foremarke Hall

On Wednesday 15 May, thirty girls from Year 5 and 6 made Fairfield history by representing the school in the inaugural girls cricket match. Three teams prepared to play Foremarke Hall in the glorious sunshine. All our teams elected to field first and set up to play. They fielded well, learning a great deal about positioning, backing up and working as a team. They took some great catches and really improved as the overs went by. Each girl enjoyed batting and developed a greater understanding of how to face different bowlers. It was a great afternoon to participate in sport, further their knowledge of the game and put into practise the skills they have been working on. Well done to all the girls for their encouragement of each other and playing in a fantastic spirit. Mrs Webster, Mrs Lewis and Ms Nicol
