Fairfield Prep School pupils are celebrated for demonstrating high levels of mutual respect and embracing diversity in their latest ISI report

The November 2024 Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) report for Fairfield Prep School has praised the School for its outstanding achievements, particularly in the area of pupils’ personal development.
The report highlights many strengths of Fairfield, from the quality of its curriculum to the strong relationships between staff and pupils, which create a nurturing and inclusive environment. Below are some of the inspectors’ key observations:
“Pupils are known and understood by staff and leaders, fostering a powerful sense of belonging and community.”
“Pupils communicate thoughtfully and demonstrate respect towards others, developing valuable life skills for the future.”
“…pupils develop their social and cultural understanding through a curriculum that promotes recognition and respect for diverse belief systems.”
“Pupils consolidate their learning by applying their knowledge and skills to real-life problems, which helps to equip them for the future.”
ISI inspections are undertaken to report on compliance with independent school regulations. Fairfield Prep School successfully met all the required standards with further positive comments and feedback detailed in the full report.
Rather than giving an overall grading, the new framework for inspection, which was released in 2023, focuses on reporting in the following five areas:
- Leadership, management and governance
- Pupils’ education, training and recreation
- Pupils’ physical and mental health and wellbeing
- Pupils’ social and economic wellbeing and contribution to society
- Safeguarding
Mr Earnshaw, Headmaster of Fairfield Prep School, said: “We are thrilled that the ISI report has recognised the many strengths of Fairfield Prep School. The inspectors noted the powerful sense of community here, and I am particularly proud of the emphasis placed on our pupils’ personal development.”
“The report has indeed been a wonderful one for the school as a whole and my staff and I remain continually motivated to provide the best education, both in terms of academic achievement and personal development for our pupils, so that they leave Fairfield fully prepared for their next challenge in life.”
