Chess club is offered to children from Years 2 upward at 3 levels from beginner, where the basics of the game are taught, through to improver and on to expert level and the opportunity to represent the county at junior level. Tuition and playing are conducted using both conventional and online facilities, with animated videos adding the fun factor!
An annual tournament allows players the chance to progress as far as national finals, and Fairfield children have also previously even played for the country.
