Blended Learning in Year 5

We have worked hard to master the technology that helps us deliver ‘blended learning’, so that children isolating at home can get the context and explanations that only face-to-face teaching can provide. We film our class lesson introductions so that children at home can still feel part of the class and where possible, we talk to the children at home, during the lesson, to ensure they understand the lesson tasks.

The lessons are recorded, so that a child can go back to review the information we have covered. The recordings are also there in case children cannot be available to join the lesson from home, at the allotted time.

The detailed resources for each lesson are available remotely, on our Firefly pages, so that isolating children can access everything from home. This includes any documents or video clips that the teachers are using in class.  Children can then send in their work so that teachers can give the children feedback.
