Your Loughborough Story

Can you tell us about some of your fondest memories? 

My fondest memory at school were my A-Level days, the switch between teachers being teachers, to them being guides to the future was profound and not something I was expecting when I returned to sixth form. It made me feel like the school was interested in my future rather than just passing the tests.

What was the best thing about School? 

The diversity of experiences and people I was exposed to.

How has your time at School influenced your life and career? 

My school days gave me a broad understanding of life outside of pure academic pursuits which has served me well in my career.

What do you wish you had known when you were in Sixth Form? 

I wish I had more interaction with leaders of industry to explain how the real world works and that anything is possible and how to follow the path less trodden. Insight into other paths than just the regular go to university and it will lead to a job.

Are you still in touch with your school friends or teachers today? If so, who? 

Yes, I still keep in contact with a number of friends from school. I am most closely connected with Kieron Kellard and Richard Lilwall from my year.

Guiding the strategic direction of the products and services offered by the business.

What are you career highlights? 

Being a founder and bootstrapping a business with zero investment into an industry leading international business.

What job search tips would you give to pupils looking for a career in your industry? What are employers looking for? 

Adaptability and attitude, in many situations hard skills can be taught but attitude, adaptability, critical thinking are key skills to most modern job roles. Understanding how to nurture these skills is of critical importance.

What ambitions do you have for the future? 

To help future generations in building fulfilling lives.
