Students Foundation-wide celebrate excellent A Level Results

• One in five A Level grades are at A* at Loughborough High School 

• Loughborough Grammar School student achieves a clear sweep of A* grades 

• 31% of students achieved A*/A grades at Loughborough Amherst School 

• University destinations include Oxford University, Cambridge University and University College London 

Loughborough Schools Foundation students have been waking up to an outstanding set of A Level results, which have secured them places at the likes of Oxford University and Cambridge University.  

Already established as one of the leading girls’ schools in the country, Loughborough High School improved further on last year’s impressive results with 20% of grades at A*, 51% A*-A, 81% A*-B and 94% A*-C.  

Dr Fiona Miles, Head of Loughborough High School, which has recently been shortlisted for the Independent Girls’ School of the Year Award, said: “This year group has offered so much to the school, and we celebrate all their achievements in their time with us. It has been a joy to work with such a dynamic, talented and inspiring year group of young women. We wish them all the best for their exciting futures.” 

At Loughborough Grammar School, recognised by the Good Schools Guide for its ‘genuinely inclusive approach to education’, 46% of students achieved grades of AAB or higher. A total of 26 students secured places at Russell Group universities, with others moving on to specialist Medical Schools and Law Schools.  

Helen Foster, Head of Loughborough Grammar School, said: “Our students are celebrating some excellent results, reaping the rewards of hard work and determination in their A Levels. They can now look forward to continuing their chosen academic paths, and we are all proud of what they have achieved.” 

Results at Loughborough Amherst School were also extremely positive, with 31% at grade A*-A (up from 13% in 2023). Commenting on the improved performance, James Neville, Head of Loughborough Amherst School, said: “These excellent results are testament to the hard work of pupils, their dedicated teachers and to the ongoing support of their families. I am immensely proud of our Year 13 leavers whose enthusiasm and commitment have so enriched the life of our community in so many areas. We wish our leavers the very best in their next adventures, as they strike out for the world beyond school.”
