Design the LHS 175 Logo!
As we approach 175 years of the High School alumni and pupils are being asked to submit designs for the LHS 175 logo which will be used in materials to celebrate the milestone anniversary! If you are feeling particularly creative or just want to take part, who knows you might create the winning design, then have a look at a few of the guidelines below and get designing!
Designing
Have fun with it, you can draw or sketch your idea or use any other form of media that inspires you.
Be creative & innovative, use your imagination & have fun!
Appropriate
The logos must represent the essence of the event/LHS – what it means to you and others who know it.
Readable
The logo must contain the text “175” and must be readable. If pictorial, symbolic, or abstract images are involved, it must be understandable to an outsider.
Attractive / Visually appealing
Keep it simple. Logos must be scalable; they must still work well when they are tiny as well as when they are huge; too much detail will get lost when the logo is shrunk.
When printed on items other than paper small or detailed images can become blurred and distorted.
Functional
A logo must perform with equal strength and effectiveness in each of the places it will be used.
It must work in black and white but also as colour.
These demands often call for simplicity in the design.
End Result
The winning design will be recreated by the Foundation’s designer and saved into the appropriate file formats to enable it to be used as widely as possible.
