On Saturday, 9 March, De Montfort Hall was the setting for a truly spectacular occasion: the Loughborough Schools Foundation’s annual Spring Concert.

This year’s concert featured music by Cécile Chaminade, Sergei Rachmaninov, and Nigel Hess, performed by our top ensembles, choirs, and Year 13 Music Scholars. Among the night’s highlights was the audience-involved choral rendition of the School Hymn by George Briggs, celebrating its centenary.

Among the standout performers of the evening was Flo, the Harry Humber Music Scholar, an award generously supported by the Worshipful Company of Plaisterers, honouring the memory of Past Master Harry Humber (LGS 1924). Flo began her journey with LSF in 2022 without prior classical singing training. Initially receiving the Scholarship for composition, her remarkable talent for singing soon emerged. Flo’s musical journey has shown impressive growth, leading her to study singing at the Birmingham Conservatoire from September 2024.

The link for the full concert recording will be posted here once it’s available.
