Remembrance Services

On Friday 11 November at 11am, pupils and staff from across Loughborough Schools Foundation held Remembrance services to remember those who have sacrificed, served, fought and died in service. Across the schools, pupils laid wreaths and took part in a two-minute silence to reflect on those who gave their lives for their country.

Members of the CCF cohort at each of the senior schools, along with the symphonic wind band at Loughborough Grammar School, played important roles in leading the processions and the laying of wreaths.

Loughborough High School particularly remembered former High School pupil, Joanna Yorke Dyer, who died in 2007 whilst serving in Iraq.

Loughborough Grammar School remembered those 472 pupils and old boys and 39 staff who fought in the World Wars and the 117 that lost their lives in the conflicts. Their names are recorded on the war memorial in Hodson Hall and at the base of the trees on the north side of the Quad outside Queens, Barrow and Cope.
