Old Loughburian Andrew Baker (LGS 1978 -1985) is a member of Miss Bowie and The New Killer Stars, a Bowie tribute band. Having formed about 18 months ago, they are now gigging fairly regularly across the East Midlands. They recorded some promotional material earlier this year (which can be accessed via their website and facebook page) and this lead to them recording a session and interview for the Notts Music Network. More recently, the band were delighted to be approached by Notts TV which saw them performing unplugged versions of two Bowie classics, Starman and Heroes and they have also played a handful of gigs to help raise funds for some very worthwhile causes.

Looking forward, the band continues to expand their set list of 25 songs and are aiming to double this number over the coming months which will enable them to tailor their sets to suit the audience. They are also looking forward to early 2019 where they will be playing at two Bowie conventions – in Paris at the end of January and in Derby in March. The band will also be appearing at one of Leicester’s leading live music venues, The Shed, on the 23 November.
