A Level
You can use a language for practical communication in leisure and work – a valuable life skill. When learning a language, you also acquire transferable skills, such as problem solving, decision making, teamwork and communication.
The course comprises of four Themes which deal with various aspects of culture and society in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
THE FOUR THEMES:
- Theme 1: Environment, education and the world of work
- Theme 2: Music, media and festivals and traditions
- Theme 3: Immigration and multicultural society in Germany
- Theme 4: Life in East Germany before and after Reunification; life in Germany since Reunification
You will be assessed in all four skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking, and the assessment will include writing essays and translation from English into German and vice versa.
