Product Design
This is the ideal subject to complement and apply Maths and the Sciences should you wish to follow a career in Product Design or Engineering.
Past students have moved in to very successful careers in these areas as well as Formula One, Motorsport in general, Aerospace and many others. The demands are high but so are the rewards working for companies such as Mercedes, Airbus, Rolls Royce etc.
Each year there is an examined project as well as an exam, similar in structure to the GCSE course but much more advanced. You will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of the processes and equipment needed to produce 3D working prototypes. You will need to devote several hours of your own time to read around the subject, as the exam is geared towards university courses. The workload and demands are high, we expect to have advised and mentored your choice before you reach us in September as the subject should be core to your future ambitions.
