Studying Chemistry is all about discovery, creativity, problem solving and communication.

Chemistry is essential to develop new medicines, foods, fabrics, plastics, cosmetics and fuels, to name but a few. It helps us to understand how biological systems work, controls the quality of our water so that it is safe to drink and keeps the air we breathe pure.

Chemistry will keep your career options open and combines well with other subjects at A Level, such as: Biology, Geography, Mathematics and Physics.

The course aims to teach you chemical ideas within a context led approach, split into topics covering different key concepts of Chemistry.

THE EXAMINATION INCLUDES THREE PAPERS:

  1. Periodic Table, elements and physical Chemistry
  2. Synthesis and Analytical Techniques
  3. Unified Chemistry

The practical element is assessed throughout the two years to achieve the Practical Endorsement.
