Back to Meet our Pupils

Niamh

Deputy Head Girl

Being Deputy Head Girl at Loughborough Amherst School has been a great privilege. I joined the School in year 8, this transition was very easy for me as the pupils were so welcoming and I made instant lifelong friends.

I am currently in my last year of A levels studying Geography, PE and English. Once A levels are over I’m hoping to go to Lincoln University to study Journalism. Journalism become a passion for me once I started studying English literature at A levels. I decided to pick these A levels as they will contribute massively for my future career travel journalism after serving in the Army.
After finishing at University, I am then wishing to join the Army Dog handling team, this dream was created after joining the Combined Cadet Force (CCF). I have been part of CCF for two years now, and it has been a brilliant experience for me as I am now able to enjoy my love of the outdoor in school.

The range of extracurricular activities available has been amazing I’ve been able to explore new experiences and to learn and improve new and old skills. For example, sports teams that welcome anybody, giving you the chance to improve in certain sports like Netball or Hockey. Along with the sport clubs come great team trips such as the Netball Tour in Dubai in 2016. If sport is not your thing, there are other clubs such as Drama club. I found this club really put me out of my comfort zone and I was able to gain confidence performing in front of a crowd.

"This school has given me lifelong memories I will never forget, friendships that will never disappear and skills I can use throughout my life but also a great education which allowed me to follow my dreams and explore my passions. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. "
