We’re pleased to announce record high GCSE Results

This marks another high point in Amherst history as we see record high GCSE results. Over 40% of pupils achieved top grades of 9-7 – a huge 15% increase on the previous year. Many pupils also excelled with straight grade 8s and 9s.

Behind the figures, we saw tremendous individual triumphs from our pupils including Tymofii from Ukraine, who is one of our boarders here at Amherst, who achieved grades 7-9 across Mathematics and Sciences. Additionally, we would like to congratulate Abigail, Benjamin, Frances, Grace, Jonathan and Sophia who gained an especially high proportion of grades 8 and 9.

James Neville, Headmaster, says: “These GCSE results represent another high point for Amherst, following on from the school’s fantastic A Level results last week. We are very proud of all our pupils, whose dedication is reflected in these tremendous results, which complement their endeavours across so many aspects of school life, from the sports field to concert hall.

We look forward to welcoming our students and new sixth form joiners in the coming weeks as they embark on their A Level studies at Amherst.”

Our pupils look forward to moving onto the next steps in their Amherst journey. Sixth Form is an exciting time in their lives – a time of discovery, enlightenment, and challenge, whereby they become confident, world ready young people. With specialist support from our expert staff, our pupils go on to attend Russel Group Universities, study medicine, law, and more.
