Pupils at Loughborough Amherst School were celebrating their GCSE results this morning.

Headmaster, Julian Murphy, said:

“I am delighted with our GCSE results this year. Our number of grade 8 and 9s has increased on last year at 12% and our number of grade 7-9 results is the same as it was this time last year at 23%.

“Our value-added data (indicating how much we add, as an average, to pupils’ predicted results) is significantly above the national average.

“Particular congratulations should go to our Biology students, who achieved 100% of all grades at 7-9; our Music students, who achieved 60% of all grades at 7-9, and our Geography, Chemistry and Physics students, who achieved 50% of all grades at 7-9.”
