Back to Co-curricular Overview

Triathlon at Loughborough Schools Foundation is an exciting opportunity set up in 2018 for pupils from all four Schools to train with elite British triathletes and coaches linked with the British Triathlon Federation squad, who are based at Loughborough University.

The club members swim, cycle and run at locations around the Foundation extensive facilities throughout the year. The young athletes train to compete within the Tri series distances in their respective Schools ISA and IAPS school competitions and in the East Midlands BTF youth series in the summer term.

To date the Foundation has hosted its own Go Tri, with LGS alumni and GB triathlete Ben Dijkstra to present to award the competitors.  Loughborough Amherst School 6 preparatory athletes all placed in the top 50 in the ISA National preparatory event, with C Locker gaining 9th place.

The future vision for the of the club is to provide a platform within the curriculum for interested athletes to develop their fitness and skills to lead into talented athletes training alongside the performance squad at Loughborough University. We are aiming to host local and national Independent schools duathlon and triathlon competitions for children form the age of 8 – 18.
