At Amherst, we firmly believe that education extends beyond the classroom, encompassing holistic development of a child’s social, emotional, physical, spiritual and intellectual attributes.
Our co-curricular programme provides stretch and challenge for all, and develops key qualities of leadership, creativity, community & teamwork and wellbeing & exercise.
At lunchtimes and after school, Amherst is a hive of activity as pupils engage in a whole host of fulfilling pursuits which extend learning beyond the classroom. The Sister Celine Award recognises pupils’ commitment and excellence in co-curricular.
We offer a diverse range of co-curricular opportunities, enabling our pupils to enhance their academic enrichment and interests. These include Young Medics, Philosophy Society, Debating and STEM Crest Award, all of which have dedicated time slots in our timetable.
Throughout the academic year, pupils have numerous opportunities for enriching experiences such as educational visits, cultural exchanges, engaging talks, conferences and team-building sessions. These activities are designed to expand pupils’ academic interests beyond the classroom.
As part of the Loughborough Schools Foundation, Amherst pupils enjoy sector-leading facilities, including the Midlands’ only ‘All-Steinway’ Music School, The Parkin Sports Centre, Forest School and swimming pool.
"The wide range of opportunities the pupils have to perform result in confident and capable performances at all levels"
